Prenatal and Postnatal Exercise Counseling
Guidance on staying active during pregnancy and returning to activity after birth, based on your health and recovery.
Activity during pregnancy
Walking, swimming and other suitable activities can support wellbeing during an uncomplicated pregnancy. Discuss your usual routine, symptoms and any pregnancy complications before starting or changing exercise.
Returning after delivery
Recovery differs after vaginal and cesarean birth. Pelvic-floor exercises and a gradual return to movement may be discussed, with attention to pain, wound healing, bleeding and fatigue.
When to pause
Stop activity and seek advice for vaginal bleeding, dizziness, chest pain, fluid leakage or painful contractions. Exercise plans should be adapted to your condition rather than following a fixed routine from the internet.
This information supports a discussion with your doctor. Suitability, availability and any specialist referral should be confirmed with the hospital. Individual care plans and outcomes vary.
